A representative of the radical Taliban movement (banned in Russia) Mohammed Naim told RIA Novosti that the militants are doing everything possible to resume domestic and international flights from the airport of the Afghan capital as soon as possible.
He stressed that the resumption of flights is one of the priorities of the movement. Naim noted that for this it is necessary to repair part of the equipment destroyed in the Kabul air factory.
Naim also added that the Taliban will need technical assistance to manage the airport. In particular, the militants do not mind if the Turks who worked in the technical department remain. Otherwise, the Taliban will turn to other parties. At the same time, the security issues of the airport will be in the area of responsibility of the Taliban.
Earlier it became known that the United States stopped controlling the Kabul airport and air traffic in it. American aviation authorities have called for increased caution for planes traveling from Kabul, to Kabul or through the Afghan capital.
