Title: Should I do SEO for my forum?
Post by: ATH019 on 10 July, 2019, 02:39:37 AM
Seeing as this is a forum I thought this would be an apt place to raise this question, which is, should I use SEO for my forum in addition to other promotion techniques, or is it a waste of time?  This is what someone on another forum that I'm also a member of suggests in a fairly detailed post.

On it's own standard SEO steps is not enough; it can help in getting more visitors, but not on it's own.  One of the most important things is back-links, that is to have a link to your forum on as many other sites as possible.

Yep must have back links ordinary SEO-ing on its own won't get traffic!

All very good in theory and I agree with the potential of back-linking, but actually getting other sites to do it is easier said than done imhe!  :o
