As the title suggests, are there any operating systems specifically designed for games production? Currently I'm trying to develop a game with a few ppl I know, but we find that usual OS's don't work that well in certain areas. If anyone can suggest a server OS for games, that would be great!

One's that I've heard of that are often used for game servers are debian (https://www.debian.org) and gentoo (https://www.gentoo.org). Hope that helps.

I second Debian, didn't know about Gentoo though.

OK, thanks both for useful advice! I'll probably go with debian which I heard about before if memory serves correctly. ::)

So, I went with Debian - and it worked out great! Project's going OK but not finished, quite a bit to do yet.
