Would a scaled-up r/c multi rotor work near full sized?

Right so I have this r/c multi rotor or quad-copter that I bought not long ago, if I made a scaled-up version say near full sized, would it work?  Thanks for any advice.

It might but would depend on a lot of things.  What sort of construction is the r/c one?  Any pics?  Interesting idea BTW.

Sikorsky I think have made an electric helicopter called Firefly, so in theory a big electric powered multi rotor would work, but how you going to make the parts?  Also will it still be radio-controlled or are you talking manual?

I have a fairly decent shed and stuff, but the idea is still for it to be r/c just a lot bigger.  I have no cad progs or 3d printer or anything but will use the r/c one I have as a visual reference.

Very nice, I like how the props are shielded.  To be certain a bigger version would work, you'd have to scale-up everything more or less exactly, which means power-to-weight ratios not just the size.

Nice quad-copter there, nice pic.  Looks about 1-foot and a bit diameter, how much larger do you want your idea for a bigger version to be?

Yea, if it slightly glances off a branch or something it's not effected, it doesn't crash.  And I know what you mean by scaling up power to weight ratios.

Thanks  It's a shade over 14" on the diag.  On the other issue, about 5 foot and I think I can get elec motors big enough for it.

Five foot is quite big, elec motors for something that size won't be cheap.
