Hey all! ;)  For some reason I decided to try my hand at making a diorama depicting an average back garden scene with a shed and stuff, but I'm stuck as to what I can use or do to create a realistic looking lawn.  I tried using that green dust or grit stuff you can get from model shops, but end result doesn't look real, looks too even.  Any ideas welcome.

If I remember correctly an older brother of someone I knew in my junior school days used things like different types of cloth, carpet, gauze and such depending on the scale of the diorama and how thick he wanted the grass.

My uncle used to use things like this for his model railway.  Made very realistic looking grass.

Cork and lint gives good grass-and-earth effects if done right.
